Chipped Scones: cinnamon+chocolate chips http://breadbox.triopticon.com
The basic scone recipe, plus a bit of cocoa powder for color and a half-cup of chips, both chocolate and cinnamon. Bake at 400 for about 20 minutes, then let it coast in the oven for another seven minutes.

1. Iron Scones1.75 cups of flour
4 tsp baking powder
5 T butter *
optional .50 cups of stuff
.667 cup of water
- having run out of butter I’ve been substituting 5 T of olive oil. And that, in turn, seems to require an additional .25 to .50 cup of flour.
Method:
Put your cast iron pan into the oven and set the thermostat for 400.
Mix after each addition of an ingredient. Since there are at most five ingredients, that’s four mixings.
Mash the dough into a circle, cut into slices. I use the pizza stone so’s it doesn’t stick to the countertop.
When the oven’s hot, take out the pan. Pour a thin layer of olive oil into it. I reckon I use a tablespoon or two.
Place the dough into the pan and put ’em into the oven for 20 minutes or so. I usually let the scones sit in the pan on top of the range to cool/finish cooking.
